Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, is gearing up for a tricky contest as his side prepares to face Ghana Premier League newcomers Young Apostles on matchday three of the 2024/25 season.
The Porcupine Warriors will host the debutants at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, September 22, and Dr. Ogum is fully aware of the challenges posed by such teams.
Speaking in a pre-match interview with the club’s media team, the coach highlighted the difficulties of preparing for a team with limited tactical data.
“It’s always a challenge because you don’t have much tactical information on teams like this, which adds an extra layer of difficulty,” Dr. Ogum explained.
He also emphasized the added motivation for teams playing against Kotoko, particularly new sides eager to make a strong impression. “Every team that faces Kotoko wants to make a statement, and as a new team in the Ghana Premier League, they’ll likely push even harder to deliver a strong performance,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will look to build on their solid start to the season, having secured a 1-0 win over Karela United in their opener at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex. The club aims to continue its momentum with another victory this weekend.
