Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum believes his team’s confidence will surge following their first win in five games.
The Porcupine Warriors ended their four-game losing streak in the Ghana Premier League with an impressive 2-0 victory over Aduana FC on Sunday during match week 12.
The game, played at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, saw goals from Patrick Asiedu and Albert Amoah in either half to secure the much-needed triumph.
Speaking after the match, a visibly relieved Prosper Ogum expressed optimism about the team’s resurgence. “I think we have started, we’ve won, and I believe the confidence of the boys will go up,” Ogum remarked. “Teams that win regularly are always confident and united.
“Once we’ve won, I’m sure the confidence will bounce back, and they’ll stick together more and work harder than before, because this is just the beginning of better things to come.”
The win moves Asante Kotoko to seventh place on the league table with 18 points from 12 matches, leaving them five points adrift of the top spot. Ogum will be hoping this victory serves as a turning point as the team looks to climb the table and challenge for the title.
