Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has redirected his team’s ambitions towards contending for the Ghana Premier League title following their elimination from the FA Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors were ousted from the Cup competition after a 2-0 loss to Karela United in the Round of 16 on Monday, with goals from Solomon Aboagye and Giyas securing Karela United’s advancement to the quarterfinals.
Despite the setback, Ogum emphasized his team’s determination to bounce back and compete vigorously in the Ghana Premier League.
“I take full responsibility for our exit from the FA Cup. The team’s performance fell short of the high expectations of our loyal supporters,” Ogum expressed.
“We apologize for the disappointment. We are dedicated and committed to returning stronger to challenge for the Ghana Premier League,” he conveyed on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Ghana Premier League is set to resume on February 23, with Kotoko currently positioned third in the standings after the first half of the campaign.
