Asante Kotoko has handed a trial opportunity to former Legon Cities midfielder, Joseph Mereku, as he looks to impress the technical team and secure a contract with the Ghanaian giants.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been training with the team since the start of their pre-season on Monday, showcasing his skills in a bid to convince the coaches to give him a chance.
Mireku, who has spent the last four seasons with Legon Cities, has featured 58 times for the team, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He is now hoping to bring his experience and talent to Asante Kotoko.
He is not alone in his quest for a deal, as he is joined by fellow trialists Victor Asamoah and two others as they battle for a spot in the team.
With stiff competition for places in the squad, Mireku will need to put in a strong performance to stand out and earn a contract with the Porcupine Warriors.
