Reports from local media suggest that Asante Kotoko is in the early stages of considering the return of their former player, Imoro Ibrahim.
Initial discussions have been held, although formal negotiations have not yet progressed to a concrete agreement.
Imoro Ibrahim, a left-back who terminated his contract with Al Hilal in Sudan last season, is currently a free agent. He had initially made the move to Al Hilal from Asante Kotoko for a reported transfer fee of $410,000 after an outstanding 2020/21 season.
During his time at Kotoko, his outstanding performances played a pivotal role in helping the club secure the Ghana Premier League title in that season. However, his experience in Sudan didn’t unfold as expected, leading to the termination of his contract with Al Hilal.
Asante Kotoko, who have experienced difficulties in the early stages of the season with only two wins in their first six games, could greatly benefit from Imoro’s return.
While formal negotiations are yet to take place, his comeback would likely be warmly welcomed by the club’s supporters, who still hold fond memories of his contributions to their 2020/21 league triumph.
