Ghanaian international Michael Baidoo expressed his happiness at seeing Black Stars coach Chris Hughton observing his performance from the stands during IF Elfsborg’s convincing 3-0 victory over AIK in a Swedish Allsvenskan match on Monday.
The talented attacking midfielder played a pivotal role in the victory, scoring two goals, which contributed to maintaining IF Elfsborg’s top position in the league standings this season.
This strong performance has put him in contention for a spot in the national team, which is preparing for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, led by the experienced 60-year-old coach.
Baidoo, along with his Ghanaian teammates Wolji Jalal Abdulai and Emmanuel Okyere Boateng, was pleased to see the presence of the national team coach and his team at the Boras Arena.
“There are so many Ghanaians in the Allsvenskan, so it’s fun that they came here and want to see us. I am so happy,” the talented attacking midfielder mentioned in a quote attributed to him by the Newspaper Borås Tidning.
Baidoo and his fellow Ghanaians aspire to secure the 2023 Allsvenskan season title with IF Elfsborg, as they currently lead the league standings.
