Orlando Wellington, the deputy coach of Asante Kotoko, has unveiled the 20-man squad set to confront Medeama SC in the 22nd round of the Ghana premier league. The Baba Yara Stadium will host the match on Sunday at 6pm.
Isaac Oppong, who has been out of action due to injury for four months, is poised to make a comeback to the squad for this crucial game. Additionally, Augustine Agyapong, who was excluded from the Black Meteors squad that played against Algeria, will also join the team.
However, Kotoko will miss the services of two vital players – Justice Blay and Rocky Dwamena, who displayed outstanding performances in the club’s previous encounter against Samartex. Furthermore, the team’s top scorer, Steven Mukwala, is currently on national duty with the Ugandan national team and won’t be available for selection.
The outcome of this match may determine whether or not the Porcupine Warriors can compete for the league title. A victory could propel Kotoko to a top-four spot, but they will face a stern test from their opponents.
