Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has received backing from the club’s owner, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to remain in his position despite recent calls for his dismissal from fans.
In the past weeks, fans have voiced their frustration over the team’s poor performance, calling for the coach to be sacked. Asante Kotoko has endured a tough stretch, losing six out of their last seven matches and winning just once in their last 10 games.
The disappointing results have sparked outcry among supporters, who deem them unacceptable and have clamored for Coach Ogum’s removal.
However, in a meeting held today with the coaching staff, players, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expressed his confidence in Coach Ogum and urged the team to work diligently to reverse their fortunes.
Consequently, Coach Ogum has been given the green light to lead the team from the dugout in their upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Samartex FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this weekend.
