Asante Kotoko are set to strengthen their technical bench with the appointment of former club captain Isaac Amoako as the new goalkeeper coach.
His appointment follows the recent dismissal of Najahu Issah and forms part of the club’s effort to restructure ahead of the new season. Amoako, 40, is a seasoned coach with prior stints at Dreams FC, Nsoatreman, and Medeama SC. He is highly regarded for his ability to develop goalkeeping talent and is expected to bring renewed discipline and expertise to Kotoko’s goalkeeping unit.
Amoako enjoyed an illustrious playing career, having featured prominently for AshantiGold SC, Dreams FC, and most notably Asante Kotoko.
He joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2007 from BA United after impressing in his debut Premier League season and went on to spend ten fruitful years with the club.
During his decade at Kotoko, Amoako won four Ghana Premier League titles and six FA Cups, cementing his legacy as one of the finest goalkeepers in the local game and a respected leader in the dressing room.
