Asante Kotoko are set to part ways with defender Yahaya Dawuni and winger Bernard Somuah ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors have undergone a major squad overhaul following a disappointing run in the previous season, and have already released 18 players, including captain Danlad Ibrahim, Eric Serge Zeze, and Moise Pouaty.
In a meeting with the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), Dawuni and Somuah have agreed to go on loan, with the duo expected to be offered to Ghana Premier League sides before the start of the new season.
Dawuni, who joined Kotoko from Division One League side Susubiribi last summer, failed to break into the team and made no appearances for the club.
Somuah, 18, had a more impressive debut season with Kotoko, making 16 appearances, scoring two goals, and providing two assists in the Ghana Premier League.
