Asante Kotoko are making a strong move to bolster their defense by signing former TP Mazembe defender Youssifou Atté, according to reports.
After parting ways with 18 first-team players following a disappointing 2023/24 season, the Porcupines have been active in the transfer market and have now set their sights on the 28-year-old Togolese international.
According to a report filed by former Kotoko PRO Obed Acheampong on Porcupine Stand, the Ghanaian giants are pushing to secure Atté’s services in the next few weeks. The defender recently ended his contract with Congolese giants TP Mazembe after two seasons.
Atté has a wealth of experience, having been capped 12 times for the Togolese national team, including appearances in the CAN Cameroon 2021 qualifiers.
Prior to his time at TP Mazembe, he played for WAFA and Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.
The signing of Atté would be a significant boost for Kotoko’s defense, which has been a major area of concern for the club in recent times.
