Asante Kotoko has reportedly issued a stern ultimatum to Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi, demanding the immediate payment of the transfer fee for Ghanaian forward Albert Amoah.
The Porcupine Warriors, who sold Amoah during the summer transfer window, say that the Libyan club has yet to settle the agreed-upon fee, prompting concerns about contractual compliance and potential legal action.
Sources close to the club indicate that Kotoko’s management has set a deadline for payment, warning that failure to comply could force the Ghanaian giants to take formal measures to recover the funds.
Kotoko Communications Director Sarfo Duku confirmed that the club is serious about protecting its financial interests. “We expect all clubs to respect agreements reached during transfers. Albert Amoah’s transfer was done in good faith, and it is only right that the fee is cleared promptly,” Duku stated.
The situation has raised eyebrows among Ghana Premier League followers, as Amoah has continued to impress with Al Ahly Benghazi, while Kotoko waits to secure the financial return from the deal.
Should the Libyan club fail to meet the deadline, Kotoko is reportedly prepared to escalate the matter to CAF or FIFA, ensuring that contractual obligations are enforced.
