Embattled president of the defunct Ashantigold SC, Dr. Kweku Frimpong has responded to claims that he is not the rightful owner of the club.
Ashantigold, then strong and mighty have recently become a mockery club who was found guilty of betting and match fixing.
The club recently suffered another setback when they were expelled from Ghana football which intensified the calls for the sacking of Dr. Kweku Frimpong as the President of the club.
Reacting to the calls, Dr. Kweku Frimpong stated that nobody can sack him because the club belongs to him.
He further stayed that he bought the club for a $1m and also paid the club’s debt of $450,000.
“I bought AshantiGold for just $1m, but they had debts of $450,000.00, so I had to also clear the debt as part of the purchase of the club,” Dr. Kwaku Frimpong stated.
Ashantigold have recently placed an injunction on the Ghana Premier League as they continue to fight the Ghana Football Association for “wrongfully” kicking them out of Ghana football.
