Attram De Visser pulled off a remarkable comeback to defeat PAC Academy on penalties, securing their first-ever spot in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The second-tier side triumphed 4-3 on penalties after Gabriel Matumassey scored a dramatic equalizer in the final minute of regulation time to push the game to a shootout.
PAC Academy had initially taken the lead midway through the second half when Evans Sarfo converted from the penalty spot. However, Attram De Visser refused to back down, launching relentless attacks in the dying minutes of the game.
Their persistence paid off in stoppage time when a well-delivered corner kick found Matumassey, who rose highest to head home in the 93rd minute, forcing the game into penalties.
Interestingly, Attram De Visser’s journey to the semi-finals has been defined by penalty shootouts, having eliminated Port City, Okwahu United, and Bibiani GoldStars in similar fashion before adding PAC Academy to their list of victims.
The Sowutuom-based club will now look ahead to the semi-finals as they aim to continue their fairytale run in the FA Cup.
