Asante Kotoko forward Baba Yahaya has expressed optimism about the club’s pre-season preparations as they gear up for the 2024/25 season.
Despite a 2-1 loss to Medeama in a friendly match that marked the reopening of the renovated TNA Sports Stadium, the team remains positive. Kotoko recently won their opening game in the GHALCA 2024 Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars.
Yahaya emphasized the importance of not setting expectations based solely on past performances. “We can’t raise our expectations too high just yet. We are just starting our pre-season, and the training has been very positive so far,” Yahaya said.
He added, “We hope that the hard work and the strategies our coaches are implementing during this pre-season will reflect in our performances throughout the upcoming season.”
Asante Kotoko will kick off their Ghana Premier League campaign with an away match against Karela United.
