Dreams FC General Manager, Ameenu Shadow, has confirmed that his team will use the Baba Yara Stadium as their home venue for the CAF Confederation Cup group phase.
Dreams FC achieved historic qualification to the group stage of the Confederation Cup after defeating Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon. Initially, they played their qualification matches at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, they will now switch to the Baba Yara Stadium, as it is the only approved venue in Ghana for hosting such games, according to Shadow.
In Group C of the competition, Dreams FC will compete against Tunisian giants Club Africain, former Nigerian champions Rivers United, and fellow debutants Academica do Lobito from Angola.
Shadow explained to Kessben FM, “Baba Yara is the only sanctioned stadium per the list released by CAF, so we have no other choice than to play at the Baba Yara in Kumasi.”
The Confederation Cup group phase is scheduled to start on Sunday, November 26, 2023, and will run until March 3, 2024.
