Bashir Hayford, the head coach of Kpando Heart of Lions, appeared to attribute his team’s 2-0 loss to Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League to challenging windy conditions.
The Ghana Premier League clash took place at the WAFA Park, where Olympics’ striker Yusif Abdul Razak netted a brace, securing victory for his team with goals in the sixth and 63rd minutes.
Following a significant win against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the previous round, which led to Coach Hayford boasting about his impressive record against the Porcupine Warriors, he shifted focus to the weather conditions in the post-game interview, suggesting that the wind played a significant role in the outcome.
Hayford remarked, “The performance wasn’t bad only that I told you from the beginning that the only disadvantage is the wind. It is very difficult to play against the wind and even for the wind. The second goal, it (the ball) bounced and changed position. It’s difficult but I think the boys have done very well…we played very well.”
Despite their efforts, Heart of Lions fell short of securing back-to-back victories with the loss to Great Olympics.
