Heart of Lions head coach, Bashir Hayford, has set his sights on clinching the Ghana Premier League title as the season approaches its climax.
Currently sitting third on the league table, the Kpando-based side has amassed 41 points from 25 matches.
Their latest outing saw them earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against giants Asante Kotoko on matchday 25.
Speaking after the match, Hayford expressed his team’s ambition to go all the way. “When we get the Premier League title, we will win it. We are targeting on winning more of the remaining matches and if we are up there at the end of the season, then we take it,” he stated confidently.
The clash against Kotoko was intense. Justice Blay gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead with a fine strike during first-half stoppage time. However, Lions responded almost immediately after the break, with Fawzi Ali finding the back of the net just two minutes into the second half.
Both teams pushed for a winner in an action-packed second period, but neither side managed to convert their chances.
Heart of Lions now turn their focus to a crucial upcoming fixture against Berekum Chelsea, another team with ambitions of finishing in the top four.
