“Be patient with him” | West Ham assistant coach lauds exciting Summer signing Mohammed Kudus

West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus is set to make a big impact for the club, according to Assistant coach Billy McKinlay.

The Ghanaian international, who signed for the club this summer from Dutch giants Ajax, was again impressive, as he put in an eye catching display in the victory over Lincoln City.

Despite his clear talent, it has been noted by David Moyes previously that the club would not rush Kudus into Premier League football, and would rather ease him as he adjusts to the ferocity of the league.

This was again echoed by McKinlay, although he admitted that he has been impressed with the player since his arrival in east London.

“Mohammed Kudus has settled in at the Club really well and we can see there is a talented footballer there who cares about his football and wants to come in and contribute,” McKinlay told the club’s Official Website.

“I think we maybe just have to be mindful of the fact it is a really tough league, the Premier League, and it’s really difficult to come in and set it alight.”

Although there is a somewhat cautious approach surrounding Kudus, McKinlay does believe that he will be making an impact for our Hammers.

“We have to be patient with him,” added the assistant coach. “But we certainly think he’s going to be a good player for us.”
