Asante Kotoko are in dire need of their first win since October 13 when they pip Aduana FC 1-0 at home with Kalo Ouattara scoring the only goal of the match.

The former League champions will host Dreams FC in a pick of the pack on at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday. Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat in five games to Nsoatreman FC on Thursday – to end their unbeaten run – regardless, the Reds boasts of two wins, two draws and one loss with their last home game against Bechem United ending in a 1-1 draw.

The Porcupines have dominated meetings against Dreams FC at home since the 2015/16 season. Asante Kotoko have beaten Dreams FC three times in four meetings at home. Dreams FC snatched a point from Asante Kotoko in the last game of the 2022/23 season having beaten the Porcupine Warriors 2-0 in the reverse fixture at theatre of Dreams – Dawu.

Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side have lost once in their last five games with two wins, two draws and one loss with the likes of Kalo Ouattara, Steven Mukwala Desse, Nana Banyin Amoah, Andrews Ntim Manu, Sherif Mohammed, Peter Acquah Amidu, Henry Ansu and Rocky Dwamena all available for selection.

Dreams FC dropped to the bottom half of the table after the 2-0 loss to Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday. The Still Believe lads have lost three, drawn one and won one in their last five League games with their last win dating back to Sunday, October 22 when they beat champions Medeama SC 2-1 at home. On the road, Dreams FC hold a very poor record following three defeats and one draw in trips to Bechem United, Accra Hearts of Oak, FC Samartex 1996 and Legon Cities. The CAF Confederation Cup campaigners have yet to find their rhythm after grabbing only two wins in their first 8 League games.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito will heavily rely on the experience John Antwi in this encounter. Others include, Ismael Dede, Agyenim Boateng Mensah, Richard Mensah, Ebenezer Adade, Abdul Aziz Issah, Enoch Abuu, Captain Abdul Jalilu and Sylvester Simba.

The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 on Sunday at 3pm.
