Bibiani Gold Stars’ management has taken proactive measures to avoid relegation at the conclusion of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
In response to the team’s poor performance, an emergency meeting was convened on Monday, November 21, with head coach Michael Osei to address the situation.
During the meeting, it was acknowledged that the team’s current position in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League standings is unacceptable. As part of the corrective plan, Gold Stars have instructed coach Michael Osei to take a short leave.
The club’s statement released on Monday stated, “Considering the team’s recent performance and associated results, the management and the head Coach – Mr. Micheal Osei has recognized the need to take proactive measures to restore the team back to glory.”
It further explained, “In this regard, it is approved for the head coach to take a short leave of absence to enable us collectively address the challenges and review existing plans for future positive results.”
The statement concluded with an appeal to supporters, stating, “We plead with our supporters to manage their confidence as we plan to restore the success of the club.” After 11 games in the Ghana Premier League this season, Gold Stars currently occupy the 17th position on the league table with 11 points.
