Bibiani Gold Stars’ head coach, Michael Osei, showered his players with praise after their victorious match against Kotoko at Dun’s Park on Saturday, September 23, 2023, marking their first home game of the Premier League.
The Miners delivered a commanding performance in the game, ultimately securing a 2-1 victory. The first half concluded without any goals, but in the second half, Prince Kwabena Owusu broke the deadlock for Gold Stars in the 65th minute.
Georges Mfegue, who was the captain for Asante Kotoko on the day, was substituted, and his replacement, Sherrif Mohammed, made a notable impact by scoring the equalizer for his team in the 70th minute.
Eric Bosomtwi then sealed Gold Stars’ lead with a brilliant strike in the 73rd minute, securing their first-ever victory over The Porcupine Warriors.
An enthusiastic Osei couldn’t help but express his admiration for his team’s performance at the conclusion of the match.
He shared with StarTimes: “Let me congratulate the playing body. I think it was amazing performance; amazing score line. We dominated the game. I mean, we showed that we deserved the win. So, I will congratulate the team.
“…It was amazing, amazing performance. They were determined. They were very disciplined in our tactical play. During the game you can see all the departments we were very organized. We were very super in the whole game. “So, I am even short of words. I’m so happy for the performance and the score line today.”
