Ghana’s U15 girls’ national team, the Black Damsels, are preparing to defend their crown at the upcoming CAF African Schools Football Championship finals.

The tournament, organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will be staged in Maputo, Mozambique from April 2 to April 10, 2026.
Since it was introduced, the CAF African Schools Football Championship has grown into one of Africa’s leading youth competitions. The initiative aims to discover young talents and promote grassroots football development across the continent, playing a key role in shaping the future of the game.

The Black Damsels head into the competition with confidence after their historic triumph in the previous edition. That victory not only secured them the title but also underlined Ghana’s growing strength in women’s youth football and the country’s dedication to developing young players.

The team has been put together through a joint effort between the Ghana Football Association and the Ghana Education Service. They have undergone careful preparations ahead of the tournament.
However, defending the trophy will be a tough challenge, as strong teams from across Africa are determined to claim the title.

With determination, discipline and national pride, Ghana’s young stars will be aiming to retain their crown and once again show their quality on the continental stage.
