The Ghana U23 team players have collectively donated GHC13,000 to support their ailing goalkeeper, William Essu.
The former Legon Cities goalkeeper has been facing serious health issues, which became publicly known after the passing of his former teammate, Sylvester Sackey.
In addition to this gesture from the players, earlier contributions were made by the Ghana Football Association Foundation, providing GHC10,000, and the Nicholas Opoku Foundation, both offering assistance to the ex-Vision FC shot-stopper.

Essu was also a member of the Black Meteors team that participated in the 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
