Black Queens midfielder Evelyn Badu has signed with Norwegian giants FK Molde on a deal that will see her play for the club until the end of the 2025 campaign. The 22-year-old joins Molde from French side Fleury 91, bringing her wealth of experience playing in top-tier leagues. This move is a significant boost for Badu ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco later this year.

Badu’s move to FK Molde is expected to provide her with valuable playing experience and exposure in the Norwegian league. Her new club’s manager, Erlend Holmlund, expressed excitement about signing the talented midfielder, highlighting her extensive experience playing in top leagues. “Considering Evelyn’s young age, she has extensive experience throughout her time in the Toppserien with Avaldsnes and most recently in the French top division for FC Fleury 91,” Holmlund said.

Badu’s experience playing for Avaldsnes in Norway’s Toppserien and Fleury 91 in France’s top division will undoubtedly benefit her new club. She has demonstrated her technical skills and versatility on the field, making her a valuable asset to FK Molde. During her time with Avaldsnes, Badu made 47 appearances and scored two goals, while her stint with Fleury 91 saw her make 13 appearances and net one goal.

Badu’s move to FK Molde marks a new chapter in her career, and she will be looking to make an impact in the Norwegian league. With her talent and experience, she is expected to be a key player for her new club and continue to shine on the international stage with the Black Queens.

Badu’s signing with FK Molde comes at a crucial time ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco which will start from July 5 to July 26, 2025. The tournament will feature some of the best women’s teams in Africa, and Badu’s experience playing in top leagues will be invaluable to the Black Queens. With her new club, Badu will have the opportunity to fine-tune her skills and prepare for the tournament, where Ghana will be looking to make a strong impression.
