Didi Dramani, the assistant coach of the Black Stars, has lauded relegated Kotoku Royals as one of the standout teams in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Despite finishing at the bottom of the league table, the former Kotoko coach expressed admiration for the team’s performances throughout the season.
“In my opinion, Kotoku Royals have been one of the best teams in the Ghana Premier League this season,” Dramani stated in an interview with Citi Sports. “Despite their position in the league, they have played some exceptional football. I have closely followed many of their matches this season.”
The Oda-based club faced relegation after a series of disappointing results that plagued their entire campaign. A recent 2-0 loss to Great Olympics at the Sogakope Park confirmed their demotion from the Ghanaian top-flight.
Dramani’s words serve as a consolation to the fans and management of Kotoku Royals, who have been disheartened by the team’s performance. Despite their relegation, the assistant coach has recognized their quality, style of play, and consistent performances, which have earned them respect in the league.
As Kotoku Royals prepare for life in the National Division One League next season, their objective will be to regain promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
