Head coach of the Black Stars Chris Hughton is optimistic his players will give their all against Central African Republic on Thursday to secure qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, the Black Stars will host ‘The Wild Beasts’ in their last Group E encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Chris Hughton’s side tops the group with nine points, one more than Angola and two more than the Central African Republic. With two points, Madagascar is at the bottom of the group.
The gaffer is hoping the Black Stars will get the desired results.
“Everybody knows what this game [vs. CAR] means,” he told the media during Wednesday’s presser ahead of the game.
“We will do everything that we can to the result that we want to get. Preparation has been good. We are missing some players through injuries but it is also an opportunity for others.
“We are playing at home. We have a good record here and it is a record that we want to continue.”
