Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been recognized as the player with the greatest impact on the English Championship in the 2023/24 season.
According to a CIES study considering six key areas of the game, the Leicester City standout topped the charts with a score of 70, edging out other top players.
The 20-year-old’s remarkable season saw him score seven goals and provide 13 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, delighting Leicester fans. He was also honored as the Leicester City Young Player of the Year for his stellar contributions.
In total, Fatawu played a pivotal role in 20 goals as Leicester clinched the 2023/24 Championship title. He made history by becoming the first Ghanaian to score a hat-trick in the Championship, netting three times in a 5-0 victory over Southampton at home.
With Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League for the upcoming season, Fatawu aims to secure a permanent deal at the club, banking on his standout performances throughout the season.
