Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tano Bofoakwa, Alexander Ababio, has emphasized that maintaining their status in the Ghana Premier League is the club’s top priority over winning the FA Cup title.
The Sunyani-based club currently sits 11th in the league standings and is set to face FC Samartex in a crucial Matchday 30 clash at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Sunday.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Ababio underscored the importance of securing victories in their remaining matches to ensure their survival in the league.
“Right now, if I have to choose, I would prioritize staying in the league. We prepare for each match with the aim of achieving and maintaining our Premier League status, which is our ultimate goal for now,” he stated.
Ababio also discussed their upcoming FA Cup final against Nsoatreman FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, noting that the team’s focus remains steadfast on their league performance.
“With Nsoatreman, I hope we can beat them. Since joining the premiership, we’ve drawn in both encounters, and while we managed to eliminate Dreams FC, we won’t be complacent. This is going to be a local derby, and we will prepare well to beat them,” he added.
