A significant controversy is set to rock Ghanaian football as prominent administrator Alhaji Grusah has alleged that he paid a kickback of $56,000 to the GFA (Ghana Football Association).
In an interview with Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM, Grusah claimed that the payment was later refunded to his account after he discovered that the money was not used for its intended purpose, as per the information provided by GFA officials.
This outspoken administrator has been engaged in a public dispute with the Ghanaian football governing body, primarily concerning matters related to the 2023 GFA Election.
He explained, “They requested GHS650,000.00 from me, which they said would be shared among various football individuals. I transferred the funds to the GFA’s account. Subsequently, I learned that the money was not used for its intended purpose. I requested a refund, and they returned the money to my account. I possess evidence of this transaction, and it constitutes a kickback.”
Grusah also disclosed that he has instructed his legal team to initiate contempt proceedings against GFA officials who disregarded a high court injunction pertaining to the election roadmap.
