Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Fabio Gama has expressed his openness to the idea of returning to Ghana and potentially rejoining the Porcupine Warriors.
The Brazilian midfielder’s agent has informed Kessben Sports that Gama’s time with Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq SC has officially concluded after playing the 2022/2023 season on loan at Busaiteen Sports Club where he scored 8 goals and provided 10 assists in 18 games.
As per the agent’s statement, Gama has no intention of prolonging his stay in the Bahraini league, rendering him available for a potential move within the Ghanaian market.
Sources indicate that Gama is prepared for a comeback with Asante Kotoko, contingent on certain favorable conditions being met.
Gama departed from the Ghana Premier League side at the conclusion of the 2021/22 football season, as Kotoko failed to secure a contract extension agreement.
The breakdown occurred due to Gama’s desire for an increased salary, a request that Kotoko declined to accommodate, leading to an impasse in contract negotiations.
During his two-year tenure with Asante Kotoko, Fabio Gama tallied five goals in a total of 48 appearances.
