Ghana captain Andre Ayew has re-joined French Ligue one side Le Havre after signing a one-year deal with the club as he hopes to make a return to the Black Stars team.

Ayew returns to the club he helped to survive relegation during the the 2023-2024 season, where he scored five goals.

This new one-season commitment proves André’s strong attachment to the Ciel & Marine colours and his desire to defend them at the highest level.

Announcing Ayew’s return, the club wrote on its website that: ‘‘And he will defend them in particular in this superb third jersey that he himself has unveiled: a black and gold jersey, featuring the fleur-de-lys in homage to François 1st, founder of Le Havre (available from November 4).”

The statement added that: ”Like the history of Le Havre, like the history of the club itself, the history between André Ayew and HAC continues! And this is what will delight all Ciel & Marine lovers”
