Former Black Stars forward Raphael Dwamena has passed away after collapsing on a football pitch today.
News of his passing came in the aftermath of the 28-year-old suffering a cardiac arrest during a game between his Albanian side Egnatia Rrogozhine and Partizani.
The tragic incident happened in the 23rd minute of the Superliga Match Day 13 matchup, forcing the game to be suspended.
Dwamena was diagnosed with a heart condition in 2017 and had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to monitor his heart rate in 2020 during his time with the Spanish side Levante.
Despite this medical intervention, Dwamena suffered from heart attack.
