Group C
In Group C, England thrashed New Caledonian 10-0.
Justin Obuavwoduo’s brace with an own goal from Wadra Hanye alongside a goal each from Reiss Russel Denny, Tyler Dibbling, Josh Acheampong, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, Nwaneri Ethan, Murray-Campbell Harrison and Finley McAllister made the day a horrible one for New Caledonia. 7 different scorers and 8 different assisters made the day a great one for Greg Lincoln’s boys.
Brazil was shocked by Iran in the other game of the group after the underdogs came from 2 goals down to beat the 4 times champions 3-2 in Jakarta, at the Jakarta International Stadium.
Two first-half goals from Vasco forward Rayan Vitor and an own goal from Abolfazl Zamani gave Brazil a convincing lead in the first half.
Three second-half goals from Yaghoob Barajeh Kasra Taheri and Esmaeil Gholizadeh ensured a huge upset in Jakarta.
The results come as a shock considering the pedigree of the two teams at the U-17 World Cup.

Japan beat Poland 1-0 through the 16-year-old Rento Takaoka’s 76th-minute strike.
In the other game of Group D, Amara Diouf’s first-half brace ensured Senegal defeated Argentina 2-1 at the Si Jalaka Harupat Stadium in Bandung. Augustine Ruberto’s 96th-minute strike was just a consolation for Argentina.
