Hearts of Oak have appointed Serbian tactician Nebojsa Kapor as the club’s new head coach on a two-year contract, ushering in what the Phobians have described as “a new era” ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The appointment follows what the club said was an extensive recruitment process aimed at restoring Hearts of Oak to domestic and continental prominence.
A UEFA-licensed coach, Kapor is no stranger to Ghanaian football, having previously managed Tema Youth, Bechem United and Medeama SC. His experience in the Ghana Premier League, combined with his reputation for developing young players and implementing an attacking style of play, played a key role in his appointment.
In a statement announcing the move, Hearts said Kapor’s coaching philosophy aligns with the board’s long-term vision of rebuilding the club.
The club also revealed that Kapor’s appointment is the first of several technical changes expected in the coming weeks as preparations continue for the new season.
“The Board is confident Coach Kapor has the leadership and technical competence to lead Hearts of Oak into a new era of stability and success,” the statement read.
Hearts have called on supporters to rally behind the new coach and his technical team as the club seeks to return to the summit of Ghanaian and African football.
