Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC captain Yusif Chibsah has asked coach Chris Hughton and his technical team to make Mohammed Kudus and Osman Bukari the key players of the Black Stars.
Kudus has been a pivot for the Dutch Eredivisie giant AFC Ajax Amsterdam this season and has caught interest from big clubs around Europe.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC captain also urged the technical team to make the Ajax star the focal point of the Stars team.
He also mentioned Osman Bukari of Red Star in Serbia as one of the players that should be considered very important in building a solid national team.
“We expect win from the two games, that is the expectation of most Ghanaians, but some of us we look beyond the win,” he told CitiSports.
“We just want to see a formidable team, a team that we can rely on for years, not just winning. It is actually important to win games, that is what Ghanaians expect from the Coach.
“We want to see Chris Hughton building us a formidable team, which we can rely on for years, two, three years.”
“Majority of the current squad are young players, about 70-80 percent are young, talking about the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Osman Bukari, and co.
“Let’s build the team around these players and let’s lay a foundation that can see them play together for the next three or four years.”
Kudus became the first player to score a brace for Ghana at the FIFA World Cup tournament when he netted twice against South Korea.
Bukari also scored a goal in Ghana’s defeat to Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar and has pivotal for Serbian giant Crvena Zvezda.
