A legend of the Ghana Premier League Daniel Nii Adjei has entreated clubs in the league to buy foreigners in order to strengthen their teams and improve the standard of the league in entirety.
He said the importation of these foreigners not only spice the clubs, but also breeds healthy competitions among the players to improve the league.
“Clubs should look around our neighbouring countries. We have players in Ghana, but if there is more competition among the players, it would really help them to develop.
I would use Kotoko as an example; look at what Fabio Gama and the Cameroonians have done. These foreigners usually bring on board a different style of football that help our players to improve.
When I went to TP Mazembe, I met some of the Zambian players that won the 2012 AFCON, and this motivated not only me, but other players there as well to improve. I am not saying they should use huge amounts, but with proper scouting, they can get very good players who aren’t costly,” he told Angel TV.
Daniel Nii Adjei is one of the best midfielders to grace the Ghana Premier League. He was adjudged the best player in the 2011/2012 season of the Ghana Premier League. He has had stints with Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and Elmina Sharks.
