Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has been recognized and celebrated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in a recent tweet.
In their “Wednesday Wizards” post on Twitter, CAF honored Gyan by sharing a compilation of photos showcasing his memorable performances in the FIFA World Cup.
Gyan represented Ghana in three World Cups, starting with his debut in 2006 in Germany. He made history as Africa’s leading goal scorer in the tournament, netting a total of six goals.
On June 20, 2023, the former Sunderland striker announced his retirement from football after an illustrious career. Gyan holds the record as Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer, having scored 51 goals in 109 matches since his debut against Somalia in 2003.
