Kurt E. S. Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, visited Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex during their final training session on Tuesday. His visit aimed to uplift the team’s spirits as they prepare for their crucial match against Victoria United in the CAF Champions League.
Okraku’s presence was intended to inspire the Timber Giants as they gear up for their debut in the continental competition. Samartex is determined to advance past the first preliminary round.
The team will play the first leg of the qualifiers against Victoria United in Cameroon, with the return match scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium. Success in this round would set up a potential clash with either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan side Raja Club Athletic in the second round.
Samartex is committed to making a significant impact in their first Champions League campaign and is focused on achieving a positive result. The first preliminary round matches are set for the upcoming weekend, with the second-round fixtures taking place from September 13-22.
