Medeama coach Evans Adotey has disclosed that defender Fatawu Hamidu will be the only player unavailable for Friday’s CAF Champions League match against Yanga SC.
Adotey assured that every other player, including the prolific striker Jonathan Sowah, who has six goals in 13 games this season and recently served a one-match suspension, is fit and ready to play.
“Apart from Fatawu, who was given two weeks to rest by the team doctor, everyone is set for the game tomorrow,” stated Adotey.
This update indicates that Medeama will have a robust squad to choose from as they aim to secure another home victory and build on their momentum in the competition.
Currently, Medeama holds three points from two games, trailing Al Ahly (6 points) and CR Belouizdad (3 points). Despite being level on points with Belouizdad, the Algerian champions are ahead due to a superior goal difference.
A triumph against Yanga SC could propel Medeama into a stronger position, highlighting the match’s significant stakes for both teams. Medeama seeks to capitalize on Yanga SC’s struggles and secure a convincing win.
Yanga SC, the Tanzanian champions, have yet to secure a point in the competition, providing an opportunity for Medeama to capitalize on their situation. With a fully fit squad, Medeama faces the challenge with confidence as they strive to meet their objectives.
