Diawisie Taylor, the forward for Medeama SC, asserts that the Ghanaian champions are fully prepared to take on Al Ahly in the crucial Group D encounter of the CAF Champions League.
The Mauve and Yellow are in dire need of a victory to bolster their chances of advancing to the quarter-finals, as they host Al Ahly in Kumasi on Friday.
Taylor, a recent addition to the Medeama squad, exudes confidence in the team’s readiness for the impending showdown and urges the club’s supporters to rally behind them.
“We will pray to God that on Friday it will be our day so that we take the three points to make our supporters and fans happy,” he expressed to Onua Sports.
“Increasing preparations is vital when facing a powerhouse like Al Ahly. Currently, the team is in good spirits, and our preparations are proceeding smoothly.”
Taylor steps into the shoes of Jonathan Sowah, a prolific striker who departed to join Libyan side Al Nasser. Despite the pressure of filling Sowah’s role, Taylor exudes self-assurance in his abilities.
“I am also confident in myself. Yes, Sowah is gone, but I believe I am a capable replacement. I am prepared to contribute to the team’s success and surpass the achievements of my predecessor,” he affirmed.
