Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC emerged as one of the standout performers in the latest round of CAF Champions League preliminary fixtures, delivering a commanding 6-0 victory over Zanzibar’s Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) Sports Club.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Orlando Pirates struggled to break down Madagascar’s Disciples FC, settling for a 0-0 draw at a neutral venue.

Pyramids FC Shine in Cairo

Pyramids FC showcased their prowess at the Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, where they dismantled JKU with ease. Initially scheduled to play the first leg in Zanzibar, the match was moved to Cairo after JKU agreed to play both legs in the Egyptian capital.

Pyramids dominated from start to finish, with goals from Fiston Mayele, Walid El-Karti, Mohanad Lashin, Ibrahim Adel, and Mahmoud Abdel-Hafiz sealing the emphatic win in front of a passionate home crowd.

Orlando Pirates Held by Disciples FC

Orlando Pirates, on the other hand, were frustrated by Disciples FC in a goalless draw at the National Sports Complex Pitch 1 in Mauritania. The South African side controlled much of the game but found it difficult to break through the resolute defense of the Madagascan team, leaving the tie finely poised for the return leg.
