Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has been relegated to the reserve team of French Ligue 1 side RC Lens.
The 24-year-old, along with teammate Stijn Spierings, was moved to the reserves by head coach Will Still, who cited the need to streamline his first-team squad.
“For the well-being of the group and the training sessions, it was necessary to trim the group a little,” Still told Foot Mercato. The club plans to offload Salis during the summer transfer window due to the lack of space in the first-team lineup.
Salis, who is under contract with RC Lens until June 2028, is now actively seeking a transfer to reignite his career. According to Transfermarkt, any club interested in acquiring him will need to offer approximately €8 million.
Despite the setback, Salis remains a key figure for Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, having made 19 appearances to date. As he looks for a new club, he remains at a prime age for a professional footballer and is determined to find a new opportunity to showcase his talent.
