The CAF Champions League roars back into action, with African football heavyweights Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Orlando Pirates set to headline Tuesday’s fixtures in the continent’s premier club competition.
Al Ahly, 12-time champions, will host Stade d’Abidjan at the Cairo International Stadium in a highly anticipated Group C opener. The group also features CR Belouizdad and Orlando Pirates, who will clash later in the evening at the Stade du 5 Juillet.
In Group B, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns will kick off their campaign against Maniema Union at Loftus Versfeld. The group also includes Morocco’s Raja Casablanca and AS FAR, setting the stage for a fierce battle for supremacy.
Group A sees Congolese giants TP Mazembe hosting MC Alger at Stade TP Mazembe, while Young Africans face Al-Hilal in an early kick-off at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
Other fixtures include Pyramids taking on Sagrada Esperança and ES Tunis locking horns with Djoliba.
