The second round of matches in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Group Stage produced late drama, decisive away victories and key early shifts in all four groups as clubs completed their final fixtures before the continental break for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

With eight matches played across three days, RS Berkane and Pyramids maintained perfect starts, Al Ahly dug out a valuable away point, and both Mamelodi Sundowns and Al-Hilal Omdurman remained unbeaten in a tightly balanced Group C.

Below is the full breakdown of Matchday 2, group by group, including results, standings and upcoming fixtures.

GROUP A – Berkane complete late comeback as Pyramids stay perfect

RS Berkane produced the most dramatic turnaround of the round, scoring twice in stoppage time to defeat Rivers United 2–1 in Port Harcourt.

The Nigerian side had led from the 37th minute after Mamadou Lamine Kamara’s own goal, but sustained late pressure saw Youness El Kaabi equalise in the 90+7th minute before Mounir Chouiar completed the heist in the 90+9th minute.

The result leaves Rivers United without a point after two matches, while Berkane remain top with a maximum six points.

Defending champions Pyramids matched the Moroccans’ perfect start with a composed 1–0 away victory over Power Dynamos in Ndola.

Mohamed Reda Bobo’s precise finish early in the second half earned a valuable win that keeps the holders firmly on track in their title defence.

The result lifts Yanga to four points.

In Rabat, Al Ahly preserved their unbeaten start with a hard-earned 1–1 draw against FAR Rabat.

After Mostafa Shobeir saved a first-half penalty from Mohamed Hrimat, FAR went ahead through Mohcine Bouriga.

Trézéguet equalised with a close-range header in the second half, ensuring Al Ahly stay top of the group on goal difference.

GROUP C – Sundowns and Hilal share top spot after consecutive draws

Matchday 2 in Group C ended with two draws, leaving the section the most open of the four.

MC Alger held Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless stalemate in Algiers on Friday.

The hosts created the clearer chances in an even contest, but Denis Onyango and his defence ensured Sundowns extended their unbeaten run.

A day later in Lubumbashi, St Éloi Lupopo fought back from a goal down to draw 1–1 with Al-Hilal Omdurman.

Abdelraziq Omer’s early strike put the Sudanese champions ahead, but Lupopo’s second-half pressure was rewarded as Ramos Kashala equalised in the 79th minute.

Sundowns and Hilal Omdurman now sit level on four points, while MC Alger remain in contention with two.

Stade Malien managed the closing stages expertly to claim three important points.

Esperance Tunis, meanwhile, secured a valuable 1–1 draw away to Petro Atlético after Aboubacar Diakité struck late in Luanda. Petro had taken the lead early in the second half through Tiago Reis but were denied victory in the 89th minute.
