Ghana sealed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Central African Republic in their final group match at the CAF U-20 Championship in Egypt.
The win came courtesy of a late goal from Patrick Arthur, who struck in the dying minutes to hand the Black Satellites their second win of the tournament.
Both teams created plenty of chances in an exciting first half, with Ghana slightly edging the contest in terms of possession and threat. The Central African Republic had a few promising opportunities but couldn’t break down Ghana’s solid backline.
In the second half, Ghana kept pressing and finally got their reward late in the game when Patrick Arthur found the back of the net.
The result means Ghana finish the group stage unbeaten with 7 points and sit at the top of their group, qualifying for the quarter-finals alongside Senegal.
