FC Samartex centre forward Emmanuel Mamah is confident as his team gears up for the return leg against Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.
The Timber Giants, who drew 2-2 with the Moroccan giants in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, will face Raja Casablanca at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Morocco.
Despite being considered underdogs, Mamah expressed optimism about their prospects. “We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming second leg, despite still being considered the underdog,” he said in an interview with the club’s website. “There’s absolutely no pressure on us, which allows us to play with a sense of freedom and confidence.”
Mamah emphasized the team’s aim to build on their strong performance from the first leg. “Our main objective is to build on the strong performance we showcased last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he added.
The match is set to kick off at 19:00 GMT on Saturday, September 21. The Timber Giants have already departed Ghana and arrived in Morocco on Thursday morning, with their sights set on advancing to the group stage of the CAF Champions League under coach Nurudeen Amadu.
