Cagliari has completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
The 20-year-old joins the Serie A newcomers from Hellas Verona where he played a key role in the latter’s survival in the Italian top flight for another season.
Sulemana was promoted to Hellas Verona’s senior team ahead of the 2022/23 season after spending time with the club’s U-19s after arriving from Atalanta.
The 20-year-old made his club debut in October 2022, when he came on as a substitute in Verona’s 1-2 loss to Salernita.
He went on to play 17 games in Serie A, starting the relegation decider as his team overcame Spezia to stay in the Italian top division for another season.
After what he would deem a successful season with Verona, Sulemana has now signed for Cagliari, who secured promotion to the Serie A after the just ended-season.
The midfielder pens a four-year deal with the club which will see him stay there until June 2027, playing under former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri.
