Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi produced another commanding display to earn FC Nordsjaelland’s Player of the Match award in their 1-0 victory over Randers in the Danish Superliga.
The 21-year-old Black Stars midfielder controlled proceedings in the middle of the park with his composure, passing range and defensive work as Nordsjaelland secured all three points thanks to Runar Robinsonn Norheim’s late winning goal.
Yirenkyi’s outstanding performance continues his impressive start to the 2026/27 season, further strengthening his reputation as one of the Danish league’s brightest midfield talents.
The Ghanaian enjoyed a superb 2025/26 campaign, registering two goals and six assists in 30 Danish Superliga appearances, performances that have attracted strong interest from French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg this summer.
Yirenkyi also enhanced his growing reputation on the international stage by featuring in all four of Ghana’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring the winning goal against Panama during the tournament.
Attention now turns to Europe, where Yirenkyi will be aiming to inspire Nordsjaelland when they face Valur of Iceland in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, August 6.
