Togo-Ghanaian defender Kennedy Boateng has emerged as a transfer target for Romanian SuperLiga side Universitatea Craiova following his departure from FC Dinamo București.
The 29-year-old centre-back became a free agent on July 1, 2026, after spending two seasons with Dinamo, where he established himself as a reliable figure in the Romanian top flight.
Boateng joined Dinamo from Austrian club Austria Lustenau in 2024 on a free transfer and went on to make 53 SuperLiga appearances, scoring six goals while providing defensive stability and leadership at the back.
The experienced defender began his European career with LASK in 2016 after leaving Ghanaian side WAFA SC. He later featured for SV Ried, Santa Clara in Portugal, and Austria Lustenau before making his move to Romania.
During his career, Boateng has won the Austrian second-tier title twice — with LASK in 2017 and SV Ried in 2020 — highlighting his experience of competing for promotion and success in European football.
With a reported market value of around €1.2 million, Boateng remains an attractive option for clubs searching for an experienced central defender.
While no official offer has been confirmed, Universitatea Craiova’s interest could provide the Ghanaian-born defender with an opportunity to continue his career in the Romanian SuperLiga.
